About The Position

The position is within the Clinical Quality Registry Services department, offering a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, and is remote. The role involves utilizing the Electronic Registry Services/CRStar database to abstract patient data from electronic medical records for tumor registries, ensuring high levels of abstraction accuracy and compliance with organizational quality standards. The candidate will compile data into reports for analysis and act as a liaison between clinical improvement teams.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Data Specialist certification preferred (formerly CTR)
  • 1 year of abstracting experience

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Electronic Registry Services/CRStar database to abstract patient data from electronic medical records for the application of tumor registries.
  • Perform primary data abstraction duties for clinical measures and registries while ensuring high levels of abstraction accuracy and ensure alignment with organizational quality standards.
  • Compile data into reports for analysis by various departments and committees and act as liaison between clinical improvement teams to interpret standards and specifications.
  • Maintain various quality databases including loading import files, generating and working data status reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and timeframes.
  • Identify and communicate trends in clinical data to leadership.
