About The Position

The Clinic Support Technician provides administrative and operational support to the ambulatory care team to help maintain efficient, safe, and patient-centered clinic operations. This entry-level role assists with non-licensed/certified tasks that support clinical and patient access and experience workflows, allowing licensed/certified staff to focus on direct patient care. This position is designed as a flexible, learning-oriented opportunity for individuals interested in exploring healthcare careers. Responsibilities include administrative processing, basic clinic support tasks, and operational assistance within defined scope. This role does not provide direct patient care or perform duties requiring clinical licensure or certification. The Clinic Support Technician does not replace Patient Access Specialists, Medical Assistants, or nursing staff but serves as a supplemental support role to improve team efficiency and patient access. The Clinic Support Technician works under the direction of clinic leadership and serves as a supportive member of the care team, contributing to smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.

Requirements

  • Interest in healthcare careers preferred
  • Previous customer service, administrative, or volunteer experience helpful but not required
  • On the job training provided
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customer
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned work effectively
  • Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks within assigned timeframe
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, performs detailed assignments, and compile information with accuracy
  • Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments
  • Able to read and write in order to complete medical reports and basic arithmetic is required

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves and processes voicemails and enters messages into EHR for appropriate routing
  • Manages incoming RightFax documents and uploads, routes, or files documentation within EHR or OnBase as directed
  • Assists with scanning, indexing, and document management
  • Supports reminder calls, patient mailings, and basic patient outreach as assigned
  • Assists with data entry and clerical tasks to support clinic workflows
  • Maintains organization of shared workspaces and supplies
  • Promotes a positive, respectful, and team-oriented culture aligned with the mission, vision, and values of St. Peter’s Health
  • Assists with room turnover and basic clinic preparation tasks
  • Supports instrument and tool reprocessing according to established protocols
  • Restocks rooms, checks outdates, and maintains supply levels
  • Assists with equipment cleaning and preparation
  • Provides general operational support during busy periods to maintain clinic flow
  • Communicates effectively with patients and team members
  • Follows established workflows, policies, and safety standards
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrates professionalism and customer service when interacting with patients and team members
