About The Position

The Clinic Supervisor for EMTs and Dispatch provides direct oversight and coordination of emergency medical response and dispatch operations for the White Swan Health Clinic. This position ensures that all EMT and dispatch staff operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Yakama Nation policies, Washington State EMS regulations, and applicable healthcare standards. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling, supervision, performance evaluations, and maintaining quality assurance in emergency response and patient transport services. The Clinic Supervisor will work closely with clinic administration, IHS, and local emergency response partners to ensure effective communication, coverage, and emergency readiness for the White Swan community and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Must possess current Washington State EMT certification and minimum three (3) years of experience in emergency medical services, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
  • Knowledge of emergency medical systems, dispatch protocols, and healthcare coordination procedures.
  • Knowledge of Yakama Nation organizational structure, policies, and community health needs.
  • Skill in leadership, staff supervision, and performance management.
  • Skill in communication, both oral and written, with diverse audiences and emergency partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and make quick, sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Ability to interpret and apply EMS and healthcare regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold patient privacy standards (HIPAA compliance).
  • Proficiency with radio systems, dispatch software, and electronic health record systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in Health Sciences, Emergency Management, or related field, and/or 3 years experience working with tribal communities or in rural emergency healthcare settings.
  • Certified EMS Instructor or prior training coordination experience.
  • Familiarity with Yakama Nation geography and local emergency response systems.
  • Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily operations of EMT and dispatch staff, ensuring adequate coverage and timely emergency response.
  • Oversees employee scheduling, training, certification tracking, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensures dispatch center operations meet communication standards, including accurate call logging, radio communication, and coordination with responding units.
  • Monitors EMS equipment, vehicles, and supplies to ensure readiness, proper maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develops and enforces standard operating procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Collaborates with local hospitals, law enforcement, and other first responders to maintain coordinated emergency care.
  • Participates in emergency preparedness planning and drills for the White Swan service area.
  • Reviews and verifies EMT and dispatch reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to staff to support professional development and high-quality patient care.
  • Responds to emergencies or staffing shortages as needed.
