This position involves participating in the care of patients under supervision, measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and performing non-complex procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining medication inventory, documenting clinical tasks, and ensuring patient safety during clinic visits.

  • Participates in the care of patients under supervision and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Measures and records appropriate vital signs based on departmental policy and patient age.
  • Identifies abnormal values based on age and developmental level and reports findings to the appropriate medical provider.
  • Assists with patient arrival to the clinic and facilitates a smooth patient exit.
  • Prepares patients for examination, treatment, and/or procedures.
  • Observes patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports immediately.
  • Recognizes emergencies and responds appropriately.
  • Performs non-complex procedures according to clinic policy.
  • Administers prescribed medication and/or vaccinations.
  • Collects, prepares, and secures specimens for testing.
  • Maintains medication inventory and ensures proper storage.
  • Documents clinical tasks and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Participates in compliance with safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Assists with clinic preparation by gathering appropriate clinical documentation.
  • Operates equipment including computers and phones.
  • Valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana.
  • American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.
