About The Position

Redfield Community Memorial Hospital and Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to join our team! Position Highlights POSITION SCOPE: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following nursing standards and practices. Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner. Dispenses medications as directed. Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients. Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests. Arranges for patient testing and communicates with the Front Desk for registration and hospital admissions. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls, per policy. Instructs patient and designated family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Reviews and verifies need for vaccines, reviews and completes appropriate paperwork, and administers vaccines. Attends required meetings. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Maintains patient confidentiality. Provides orientation to new clinic nurses for Redfield and Doland Clinics. Performs quality controls and testing on CLIA waived lab tests. Maintains open communication with the Clinic Nurse Manager and Clinic Director in all nursing matters: Personnel problems Risk management Infection control In-service education needs Other needs Completes forms related to risk management, infection control and refers information to the appropriate person. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed an organized course of study approved by the state accrediting agency and have obtained a temporary permit if not currently licensed.
  • No experience, other than education and licensure is necessary.
  • Must have a good basic knowledge of general nursing skills and practice, including basic knowledge relating to nursing such as biological, physical, social and medical sciences and their application for better understanding of patient care problems.
  • Must keep knowledge current by attendance of various in-service offerings and staff meetings.
  • Must be familiar with organizations, function, policies and procedures and regulations of the clinic as they relate to nursing.
  • Must have good understanding that care must be exercised in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Must have a good understanding of basic sepsis and techniques to avoid infection of patients and self.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to practice proper sterile techniques in treatments and procedures performed.
  • Must be willing to work with the realization that errors may have serious consequences for patients.
  • Must have patience and tact in dealing with patients, medical staff and other personnel.
  • Must be willing to perform a variety of simple repetitious tasks, many of which involve unpleasant conditions.
  • Must be fully aware of confidential matters.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions and work irregular hours.
  • Must achieve and maintain competency in CPR
  • Must be familiar with the organization, function related to the nursing service.
  • Must be able to perform/follow instructions issued by a Physician/PA/NP.
