Position in this function is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing to include patient care. May serve in a leadership role and is accountable for professional practice. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Participation in Compliance and other important training is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma of Nursing
  • Valid NM RN License or valid multi-state compact license or eligible for licensure by examination
  • Current BLS Certification
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Proven ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Proven management skills; strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Proven to work well in a team setting
  • Proven to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Manages the patient care process by ensuring that a comprehensive patient assessment and plan of care is completed and documented on all patients within the time frame of the established policy
  • May manage staff members, assess the needs of patients, delegates tasks, and supports staff with duties when needed
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with members of the healthcare team and facilitates the generation of ideas for improvement of patient care and supporting clinic staff
  • Adheres to regulatory and organization policies and procedures to ensure compliance and patient safety
  • Participates and attends departmental meetings and professional development activities
  • Demonstrates quality improvement, facilitating the generation of ideas for improvement of patient care and functioning of the unit
  • Completing basic RN competencies including triage (in-person and phone), nurse book, and I & R testing, in addition to departmental specific competencies
  • Other duties as assigned
