This position involves participating in the care of patients under the supervision of the manager/director and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, identifying abnormal values, assisting with patient procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Requirements

• Valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the care of patients under the supervision of the manager/director.
• Measures and records appropriate vital signs based on departmental policy and patient age.
• Identifies abnormal values based on age and developmental level and reports findings to the appropriate medical provider.
• Participates in clinic flow, including assisting with patient arrival, scheduling appointments, and facilitating patient exit.
• Prepares patients for examination, treatment, and/or procedures.
• Observes patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports immediately.
• Recognizes emergencies and responds appropriately.
• Performs non-complex procedures according to clinic policy.
• Administers prescribed medication and/or vaccinations.
• Collects, prepares, and secures specimens for testing.
• Maintains medication inventory and ensures proper disposal of expired medications.
• Documents clinical tasks and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Participates in quality improvement processes and safety compliance.
