Job Summary: Performs duties as receptionist and performs advanced clerical work. Makes appointments and receives and registers patients. Enters data into the computer. Committed to excellence through continuous improvement of the quality of services offered. Creates and maintains a culture to continuously improve patient and employee satisfaction. And able to perform all other duties assigned Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: Accurately completes client demographic and financial data Greets patients in a friendly manner Schedules appointments appropriately, putting needs above other duties and ensuring that all are treated with respect and dignity. Promptly answers telephone and directs all inquiries. Calls patients to remind them of the next day appointment Verifies with employees and other entities on Worker’s Compensation and liabilities for billing claims Collects co-pay upfront at time of service Scans insurance cards, patient demographics, and HIPPA form. Understands and is familiar with basic office equipment Able to locate and describe appropriate policies Human Resource Policies Procedures Trains other employees Attend periodic workshops/seminars to learn changes, and customer service training. Practices Time Management Assists with gathering data to assist with Performance Improvement Process Identifies location of fire alarms and fire extinguishers in area Knows appropriate response to codes Able to locate MSDS Meets the patient’s needs, regardless of whether or not the need is related to “your” specific area, maintaining a positive customer relations atmosphere Participates in Team Work, assisting other departments/co-workers as necessary Demonstrates understanding of policies on ethics Trains other employees
