Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in radiology or associated field of study.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • License Radiographer (142) - State of Wisconsin.
  • ARRT - Radiography certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in radiology or associated field of study.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Performs outpatient and/or inpatient Radiographic procedures using mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Performs simple and complex radiographic procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (HIPAA).
  • Verifies proper patient identification and exam ordered to ensure correct patient imaging.
  • Practices radiation protection by calculating and selecting proper technical factors.
  • Prepares exam room and X-ray equipment to conduct X-ray examinations.
  • Determines appropriate sequence to conduct multiple procedures and patient prioritization.
  • Abides by institutional policy and TJC policy on patient safety goals and guidelines.
  • Orients and trains new staff members in department procedures and equipment.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
