About The Position

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part­ time Clinic Placement Coordinator. The Clinic Placement Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the clinical education of graduate students enrolled in the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (M.S. SLP) program. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and facilitate high-quality external clinical placements that align with program goals, accreditation requirements, and student learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Science Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience as a student or employee in a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Working knowledge of clinical education requirements for M.S. SLP programs, including accreditation and licensure standards.
  • Familiarity with the Southern California region , including San Diego, Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles counties.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple placements, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in professional correspondence with clinical partners.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and external clinical partners.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to compliance and documentation.
  • Experience in using technology to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
  • Experience in advising, mentoring or supporting students with resources that promote academic success.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with student information systems or clinical tracking software.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with faculty and program leadership.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to clinical learning opportunities and, as applicable, service.
