The Clinic Office Assistant role involves performing various clerical and filing duties in a clinic office setting. This includes tasks such as photocopying, faxing, filing, managing medical records, answering phones, and computer data entry. The assistant must be knowledgeable about insurance managed care requirements, practice management systems, and electronic medical records, and understand how ICD and CPT coding impact reimbursement. The position may also involve billing, collection, and charge entry functions, requiring strong customer service, team building, and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • No Prior Experience Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • Must be 17 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of previous medical office experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides a variety of clerical and filing duties in the clinic office setting.
  • Duties may include photocopying, faxing, filing, maintenance and transportation of medical records, answering the telephone, computer data entry and other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledgeable of insurance managed care requirements, practice management system, and electronic medical record where applicable.
  • Understanding of how ICD and CPT coding affect reimbursement from third party payers.
  • Billing, collection and charge entry functions as assigned.
  • Demonstrate customer service and team building and leadership skills.
