Beloit Health System at Beloit Occupational Health and Sports Medicine is hiring a Clinic Office Assistant to join our team. Shift: 1st Schedule: 8a-4:30p Hours per week: 40 hours per week, with a every 4th weekend rotation Benefits Status: Benefits Eligible Department: Occupational Health and Sports Medicine The Clinic Office Assistant at Beloit Occupational Health and Sports Medicine greets all patients and visitors and completes the clerical and receptionist duties necessary to maintain the efficient functioning of the Occupational Health Center. The Clinic Office Assistant at Beloit Occupational Health and Sports Medicine is responsible for scheduling visits, collecting accurate patient demographic information, as well as company information, to ensure accurate bills can be sent to insurance patients and employers. The Clinic Office Assistant at Beloit Occupational Health and Sports Medicine will: Consistently use good judgment in accommodating employers' needs whether for appointments bills or other problems Demonstrate effectiveness and courteousness when speaking with clients, patients, and other staff both in person and on the phone Check accuracy of bills before mailing to maintain speed and accuracy at which final copy typing is produced Maintain timeliness with various project ensuring deadlines are met Demonstrates effectiveness in troubleshooting for patient, clients, and office concerns Provide appropriate information to workers compensation insurance carriers and employers in a timely manner Effectively assist nursing staff as trained with minor medical procedures or other projects at the direction of leadership Demonstrate knowledge of computer registration billing modules and ability to operate systems Answer incoming phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner. Accurately record pertinent information when scheduling appointments and taking messages. Handle and screen phone calls, receive faxes and facilitates communication with staff and physicians. Collects payment accurately (includes cash, check, debit and credit card payments) Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent required. Three or more years of clerical experience preferred. Medical terminology and/or medical reception experience preferred. Excellent organizational, verbal communication and interpersonal relation skills to be utilized with coworkers, patients and the public. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while keeping information private and confidential. Must adhere to established regulatory agencies, Beloit Health System and department policies, rules and regulations. Maintain ethical conduct and keep personal, financial and medical information regarding patients and co-workers confidential. Entails walking, standing, lifting, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping and repetitive motion activity. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work. Must possess the ability to maintain control and professionalism. High level of flexibility is required.
