For more information, visit nyit.edu . New York Institute of Technology's Jonesboro, Arkansas campus is seeking a temporary licensed nurse for their outpatient clinic in Jonesboro. Under the direction of the Clinic Director, the ‘PRN’ nurse provides direct patient care, working alongside our board-certified physician faculty, playing a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This position would be to fill in when our fulltime nursing staff is scheduled or unexpectedly away from their duties.

Requirements

• LPN or RN degree.
• Ability to manage high patient volumes in an efficient manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient, family and team communication.
• Proficiency in technical nursing skills such as IV start, blood draws, dressings, manual vitals.

Responsibilities

• Collecting medical histories and monitoring vital signs, documenting in the EMR
• Assisting physicians with minor in-office surgical procedures and physical examinations
• Performing routine screenings such as hearing, vision, ECG, etc.
• Administering medications, injections, immunizations and performing wound care or dressing changes
• Assessing patient needs via phone or in person; coordinating care with other specialist, facilitating follow up, responding to messages from physicians
• Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean, safe workplace and equipment
• Restocking rooms, routine autoclave cleaning of equipment
