About The Position

The Clinic Nurse Manager, RN is responsible for managing all clinical aspects within the assigned out-patient clinic(s) to provide excellence in customer service, quality, cost, and deliver positive performance in alignment with SAC Health System's strategy, goals, and values. The Clinic Nurse anager, RN is responsible and accountable for patient care and relations and personnel administration. In addition, the Clinic Nurse Manager, RN serves as a liaison between medical staff and other clinical staff, coordinating the day-to-day operation of clinic services to provide quality health care to our patients. This position works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and the Director of Nursing; however, they must exhibit initiative and independent action in running the clinic. Schedule: 5 days per week 8hrs per day, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm | Location: Blyth, CA

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, or two years outpatient clinic experience and two years' supervisory experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Master's Degree or MBA, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current California Registered Nursing License. Current CPR/BLS certification (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program). As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into. Valid California driver's license, and auto insurance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 Years of RN Clinic Management experience strongly preferred. Bilingual/ English and Spanish preferred. As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Computer competency, ability to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality, use computers, printers, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; compose written material; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Work independently and in teams; Able to analyze data and create reports based on data.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and, as requested to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Use critical thinking skills/sound judgment and discernment to intervene, manage and resolve daily urgent clinical care issues, medical emergencies, patient concerns, staff concerns, etc., and to determine when communication regarding these issues needs to occur with DON and or CNO.
  • Participate in weekly 1:1 meetings with DON.
  • Oversight responsibility for ensuring up-to-date competencies of all nursing staff, RNs, LVNs, MAs.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring follow-up with medical equipment issues.
  • Directly responsible for the follow-up with physicians regarding non-dropped billable charges and work closely with the billing department to assure timely completion of charts and closure of encounters.
  • Maintain current charge masters in collaboration with the Director of Billing.
  • Develop and maintain current medication inventory for medication preference lists, working collaboratively with IS, Billing, and Central Supply.
  • Directly responsible for the follow-up of open IT tickets.
  • Directly responsible for completing and reporting Lead Control report for pediatric patients to the state.
  • Create a schedule and implement spot checks of Nursing Pods to ensure compliance readiness (e.g., logbooks, infection control policies, cleanliness of rooms, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Directly responsible for ensuring Nursing operational readiness for new clinic sites in advance of the go-live date. Work closely with DON to ensure timely readiness. Keep the checklist up to date.
  • Work closely with DON and Compliance department to ensure audit readiness of all federal, state, and oversight agency requirements.
  • Responsible for reporting to DON urgent clinical issues. Keep DON abreast of meetings which Clinic Nurse Manager (CNM) has attended, ensure accurate, detailed, and frequent communication with DON regarding daily clinic workflows, audit readiness, new clinic openings, and as requested by DON and or CNO.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all documents that direct practice (e.g., policies, clinical guidelines, ancillary guidelines, etc.).
