About The Position

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. As an RN in the Bariatric Clinic at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the role focuses on providing comprehensive care to patients pursuing medical and surgical weight‑management options. Responsibilities include pre‑operative assessments, patient education, coordination of testing, and ongoing support throughout the bariatric surgery process. RNs monitor post‑operative progress, address patient concerns, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safe recovery and long‑term success. The nursing team plays a key role in patient advocacy, continuity of care, and fostering a supportive environment for individuals navigating significant lifestyle changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree with a Major in nursing
  • Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
  • Current Ohio license or interim permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
