About The Position

The Clinic Medical Receptionist is responsible for corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of the office, and ensuring that our environment is welcoming and calm for our patients and their families at Cherry County Hospital and Clinic.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role preferred, but not required
General insurance knowledge
Ability to multitask
Detail-oriented
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Friendly and compassionate disposition
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
Must be knowledgeable of state and federal confidentiality laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, and be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and instructions regarding the privacy and security of protected health information applicable to the position
Has the ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or sitting
Able to complete repetitive movements of the hands and upper extremities
Able to move equipment around as needed
Must be able to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary
Field all phone calls that arrive using our general office number
Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients
Distribute forms and paperwork to patients, then review them to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately
Process patient payments in office
Verify patient insurances through online portals
Make patient phone call reminders of appointments
Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
Ensures the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, and financial records is maintained
Knowledgeable of and committed to practicing Corporate Compliance policies and procedures
Complies with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
