About The Position

Position Summary: The Medical Assistant (MA) supports the daily operations of a primary care clinic by performing clinical and administrative tasks under the direction of providers and nursing staff. This role ensures a high-quality patient experience through excellent customer service, efficient workflow management, and adherence to clinical best practices. This position will be full-time, non-exempt, and benefit eligible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent on‑the‑job clinical experience (per clinic policy/state regulation).
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) credential preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in primary care, family medicine a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with procedures.
  • Perform point‑of‑care testing (e.g., blood glucose, rapid strep, urinalysis) according to clinic protocols.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as delegated and in compliance with state regulations.
  • Conduct venipuncture and specimen collection, labeling, and processing for laboratory tests.
  • Maintain exam rooms, ensure necessary supplies are stocked, and follow infection‑control standards.
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Provide patient education on preventive care, chronic conditions, follow‑up instructions, and medication use.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and support efficient clinic operations.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Handle phone calls, messages, and refill requests according to clinic protocols.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up documentation as required.
  • Assist with population health outreach (e.g., annual wellness visits, immunization reminders).
  • Follows company policies to ensure consistent and compliant job performance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
