About The Position

The clinical assistant is responsible for history taking and preparation of patients from newborns to the elderly, for examination as well as assisting with the exam, documenting, and/or procedure in the office as requested by the provider. Will perform duties consistent with the needs of the communities served, in a manner that reflects the physical, psychological, and spiritual healing ministry of Christ. Heartland Cardiology Clinic LPN/CCMA/CMA performs duties including, but not limited to, the following: rooming patients for the cardiology providers-including weight, vital signs, health history preparing sample medications for patients completing cardiac clearances or medication holds to send to the cardiology providers for signature EKGs as requested by the providers Placement of heart monitors as requested by the providers Position will cross train to front desk as well, these responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance, and procedure scheduling. Position has an opportunity for continued growth. Floating to outreach offices is a requirement, Heartland has outreach offices in Washington, Santa Claus, French Lick, Petersburg, or Montgomery depending on location of candidate.

Requirements

  • CMA: Must have successfully completed at a minimum, a certified/registered medical assistant program, preferably, one year of experience in a physician office/outpatient clinic.
  • CCMA: Completion of a medical assisting certification program. one year of clinic experience required or completion of the CMA resident program at Memorial Hospital.
  • LPN: Must have successfully completed an accredited license practical nurse training program with current registration in Indiana required. CPR provider-C required
  • Floating to outreach offices is a requirement
