Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and documents data including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, pain level, medication history, and fall risk.
• Prepares exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies for patient visits.
• Assists with exams and procedures as requested.
• Utilizes written policies and procedures when performing laboratory/diagnostic tests and documents critical lab values.
• Assists in scheduling patient appointments and reviews test preparation handouts with patients.
• Completes charge tickets and submits charges in an electronic health record.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school for medical assistant required.
• Credentialed as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) required.
• Minimum of six months work experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
• Computer knowledge and skills are required.
• Typing speed of 35 words per minute preferred.
