About The Position

The Clinic Medical Assistant position at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital is a full-time role focused on assisting providers, physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing both administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. The role includes responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, preparing treatment rooms for patient exams, recording patient medical history, and cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment. Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant.
• 2 years of education/experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and interview patients.
• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart.
• Obtain patient medical history, vital signs, chart preparation, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with medical examinations.
• Perform routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.
• Ensure all related reports, labs, and information are filled out and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
• Disinfect and clean treatment rooms following patient examinations.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations.
