About The Position

The Virginia Eye Institute is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. Requirements

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related degree or five to seven years’ of ophthalmic practice or hospital administration experience.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to build, lead, motivate, and maintain effective teams.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, physicians, management, and co-workers
  • Ability maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Windows-based software applications (i.e. Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrates attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Allscripts, Dayforce, Medflow, AdvantX, and/or eClinicalworks a plus.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible managing and directing the day-to-day aspects of the clinic’s operations with an emphasis on superior customer service and teamwork.
  • The Clinic Operations Manager is accountable for the operational and financial performance of the practice.
  • This position has supervisory responsibilities for the clinic staff (technicians, practice coordinators, patient care representatives, etc.)
  • First point of contact for the clinic team
  • Manage location based associate schedules, adapting to planned and unplanned events, approving associate time in the Dayforce system, and monitoring overtime
  • Responsible for driving performance as demonstrated by metrics
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA requirements
  • Serve as Safety Contact
  • Responsible for office supply management
  • Collaborate with other VEI department managers and directors
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent service by all associates
  • Evaluate and implement operating procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Creates strong working relationships with physicians and associates
  • Complete performance evaluation process for associates
  • Counsel associates in disciplinary matters
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
