The Clinic Nurse Manager holds 24-hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for area(s) assigned. They will strive to achieve the optimal patient experience in a cost-effective manner, while applying evidenced-based leadership and practice. The Manager is responsible for the provision of safe patient care, in a manner that is consistent with the professional standards and hospital policies. The Manager promotes a positive and professional environment; supervises charge nurses and front line staff; maintains a stable and productive staff; involves staff at all levels in Shared Governance and Magnet Forces; and makes data driven decisions. They will role model performance and behaviors that are consistent with the values of the organization, furthering its mission, vision and strategic plan. The Nurse Manager holds accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of outpatient operations, staffing, and human resources management for the assigned outpatient departments. Patient care and services are carried out in collaboration with hospital administration and the medical staff and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agency requirements. Oversight includes the management of providing therapeutic care to patients and their families in the Neurosciences outpatient clinics, including but not limited to triage, procedures, infusion, preoperative clearance, and postoperative care. Serves as the primary competency validator/educator for the clinical staff. In addition, as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinic Nurse Manager utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting, when required. Ensures patient's right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with infection control policies. Complex, independent problem solving when overseeing a team of clinical staff and patient care coordinators. Other duties as assigned. Manages daily operations of assigned clinics and infusion center; promotes a positive and professional environment; supervises nurses; maintains a stable and productive staff; involves staff at all levels in Shared Governance and Magnet Forces; makes data driven decisions.
