About The Position

Assist physician and advanced practice providers with all aspects of patient visits. Facilitate patient and physician/advanced practice provider communication via patient portal, phone, or other communication method. Float to other clinics as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): Room patients to obtain vitals, history of present illness (HPI), review patient history, and reconcile medication. Document information accurately and efficiently in electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure results are available from any testing performed since last office visit. Keep exam rooms, lab, procedure rooms, and medical equipment in patient-ready condition. Order medical supplies to maintain required levels. At physician or advanced practice provider direction, order testing, process referrals to specialists, communicate results to patients, and answer messages. Provide phlebotomy services. Perform basic tests. Travel to other clinics as needed to provide sufficient coverage. Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts. Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served. Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings. Must adhere to safety protocols at all times. Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory. Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values. Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations. This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals. Performs other related duties as assigned by Clinic Practice Manager, physician, or advanced practice provider.

Requirements

  • Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
  • Basic computer skills with information technology associated with the position.
  • Accuracy is critical when executing physician or provider orders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations.
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to travel to various clinics around the facility.
  • For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license in good standing and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous EMR experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED and/or 2 years of experience preferred.
