About The Position

Performs administrative and clinical duties for the Perry Clinic. We strongly encourage our nurses to develop a good rapport with the residents. Building excellent relationships is a standard at Arbor Acres. Status Non-Exempt Job Relationships 1. Reports to the Clinical Supervisor. LPN Duties and Responsibilities Performs receptionist/secretarial duties for the clinic. Greets patients and visitors in a kind and courteous manner. Answers telephone in a kind and courteous manner. Schedules appointments for the clinic for IL residents and notifies them of appointment times. Schedule referral appointments for residents as assigned by physician and/or PA. Sends patient profile information to residents prior to CPE visits with physician. Assists patients with clinic and office paperwork, such as signing up for clinic physician and contracted pharmacy. Assembles charts, updates and files medical records. Confirms all appointments with physicians offices and clinics. Assists with arranging laboratory services. Handles correspondence. Organizes clinic work environment and supplies. Takes medical histories. Weighs residents and records in patient medical records. Telephones prescriptions to pharmacies as directed. Assists with other duties within the scope of knowledge and as assigned by Physician, Physicians Assistant, Clinic Nurse Manager or Nursing Director. Assists with P.E.T. checks as assigned. Works in the clinic every other Saturday 8:30-12:30 Provides clinical services as defined in the LPN job description (see attached). Serves as emergency nurse responder for IL residents M-F, 8:00 - 4:30 p.m.; assesses and provides appropriate emergency care as needed. Provides basic first aid and assessments of work related injuries and coordinates care to outside healthcare agencies. LPN Typical Physical Demands Must be able to lift 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance. Must be able to turn, bend, stoop and stretch in order to assist patients/residents. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to successfully complete the WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program. This program assists in determining whether applicants/employees are able to safely perform essential job functions.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to read, write, understand, and speak fluently and correctly in the English language.
  • Ability to embody and uphold the corporate personality and culture of Arbor Acres with its emphasis on warmth, caring, generation of community, enthusiasm, achievement of excellence, and joy.
  • Graduation from recognized Licensed Practical Nurse course of study approved by the NC Board of Nursing.
  • Licensed to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to turn, bend, stoop and stretch in order to assist patients/residents.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program.

  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
