About The Position

The licensed practical nurse (LPN) will perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a licensed health care provider. The position is based at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, a warm and caring not-for-profit community healthcare facility certified for 94 beds. Our mission is to provide exceptional healthcare services to the community, and we proudly offer outpatient health services in various locations including Brasher Falls, Canton, Colton, Gouverneur, Massena, Norfolk, and Potsdam, NY. This is a full-time position with an 8-hour day schedule in the OBGYN department. The LPN will be responsible for collecting patient data, obtaining vital signs, and documenting them appropriately in the electronic medical record. The role also involves collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and maintaining a clean and organized department. The LPN will perform and document direct patient and family-centered care according to nursing standards, prepare charts for providers, and assist with routine nursing care and treatment under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. The position requires adherence to administrative and nursing service policies and procedures, as well as compliance with established standards required under accreditation standards.
