This position is for our Oroville Dental Clinic. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY: To perform several Billing functions in the Patient Accounts department to ensure all accounts are timely and manageable. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 1)Financial Counseling and Appointment Scheduling a) Covid resources counseling for at risk populations including SUD, Tribal, and ag workers. b) Reviews scheduled appointments with EMR c) Ensures guidelines for “No Surprises Act” are met; including notification to Patients of Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for scheduled appointments; including documentation requirements d) Works directly with patient care teams and EMR/EDR for accuracy of GFE e) Working knowledge and understanding of EMR and EDR ledgers and financial/collection policies f) Provides financial counseling to patients, including, insurance enrollment options and reduced fee applications 2) Insurance Eligibility and Enrollment a) Develops and maintains current working knowledge of Medicaid, managed care plans and all other insurance plans with which FHC is contracted, and with other insurance plans that are available in the area; shares this information with patients and other FHC staff as needed. b) Assists patients by phone or in FHC office with insurance enrollment or change of insurance plans for the coverage they choose. c) Participates in and successfully completes all required and applicable federal and/or state consumer assistance training. d) Provides eligibility and enrollment information and assistance in a manner that is fair, accurate and impartial; and that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to diverse communities and accessible to individuals with disabilities. e) Works with Dental care teams, billing, and insurances, obtaining accurate and timely required prior authorizations 3) Provides information regarding Whole Person Health a) Distributes Wellness Wheel Education b) Coordinates referrals to Medical Services including Covid-19 screening, testing and vaccination c) Coordinates referrals to Outreach for Covid-19 support for Quarantine/Isolation in case of positive Covid-19 screening d) Coordinates referral to Behavioral Health Services where appropriate e) Coordinates referrals to Advance for SDOH and Covid Support Services
