About The Position

Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a motivated Clinic Lead - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support clinical operations at our Martinsburg, West Virginia location. This dual-role position functions as both a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing direct patient care and as the on-site clinical lead, supporting daily clinic operations and coordination. The Clinic Lead works closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure efficient clinic flow, high-quality patient care, and operational excellence. This role provides day-to-day operational oversight and employee guidance, serving as a key clinical resource and escalation point for employees, providers, and patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of West Virginia.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or other healthcare setting.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lead, charge, or supervisory role strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC preferred) and standard clinical equipment, including EKG machines, sphygmomanometers, and other basic medical instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet patients and escort them to examination rooms to ensure a welcoming and efficient patient experience.
  • Accurately measure and document vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respirations, height, and weight, in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Record and verify all current patient medications in the appropriate section of the EMR.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) following established protocols.
  • Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the physician’s examination.
  • Notify the physician of any significant health changes, hospitalizations, or urgent concerns.
  • Retrieve and organize necessary reports, hospital records, or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist patients in completing required forms, such as health questionnaires and medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Inform the physician when the patient is ready for examination.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms.
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight of clinic workflows, supporting efficient patient flow and coordination of staff activities.
  • Serve as the primary on-site clinical point of contact for employees, providers, and patient concerns, escalating issues to the Clinic Manager as appropriate.
  • Acts as the primary contact for pharmaceutical representatives, coordinating lunches, managing pharmaceutical sample inventory, and submitting reorder requests.
  • Provide functional guidance and support to clinic employees, including answering questions, troubleshooting workflow issues, and reinforcing standard procedures.
  • Partner with the Clinic Manager to support daily schedules and provider templates to optimize clinic operations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory for clinical supplies and Crash Carts, submitting supply and order tickets as needed.
  • Track inventory levels and provide monthly inventory reports to the Clinic Manager.
  • Submit and monitor maintenance request tickets to ensure timely resolution of facility or equipment issues.
  • Serve as an EPIC Superuser, providing in-office troubleshooting support and workflow guidance to employees and providers.
  • Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including coordination and compliance support for BLS and ACLS training.
  • Support and promote positive patient and employee engagement initiatives aligned with organizational culture and values.
  • Coordinate and support new hire onboarding and training for the Martinsburg clinic, including weekly competency check-ins for new employees and annual competency assessments for existing employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations, quality of care, and organizational goals.
