About The Position

Parker University, the fourth-fastest growing college in Texas and the fastest-growing college in Dallas, is currently searching for a Clinic Faculty Doctor to join our rapidly expanding team! We are seeking individuals who desire to use their unique skills to innovate and make an impact. The Clinic Faculty Doctor is responsible for providing quality chiropractic care to patients in a manner that educates and mentors chiropractic interns to serve as patient-centered chiropractic physicians and members of a collaborative interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

  • An advanced graduate, doctorate or professional degree that demonstrates mastery in a relevant subject.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time teaching
  • All other requirements per Rank Advancement as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Minimum professional experience, as appropriate for any applicable programmatic accreditation.
  • A current certificate or license as applicable to the program of instruction
  • Participation in professional development and service to the institution.
  • Participation in course evaluation and improvement strategies.
  • Completed 18 graduate hours in the discipline taught required.
  • Evidence of ability as an effective teacher, to include use of active learning approaches.
  • Evidence of the interest in and ability to engage in research, scholarly and/or creative activity required.
  • Doctor of Chiropractic degree and TX license is required (applicant must either be licensed in TX or eligible to obtain a TX license within the first teaching term, which is a condition of hiring).
  • A minimum of five-year practice experience is required.
  • Competence in their respective field of study.
  • Effective communication in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to adapt course materials to the chiropractic paradigm.
  • Proficiency with appropriate lab equipment.
  • Proficiency in software applications common in higher education environments, such as the Microsoft Suite student information systems, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Compliance with the applicable state and federal laws and regulations and accepted industry standards as associated with courses taught in their respective discipline.
  • Professional dress and demeanor; positive attitude and willingness to work with other faculty as part of a team and be supportive of the University.
  • Inclusion in Parker directed network health plans
  • Allowing Parker University to access the NPPES database for licensing verifications and updated information for billing purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the syllabus.
  • Clearly communicate course requirements, means of evaluation, deadlines, and policies to students.
  • Hold clinic-related classes as scheduled, take attendance and submit it timely.
  • Develop high-quality means of evaluating student learning outcomes and apply them fairly and consistently in accordance with Parker policies, as well as methods and timelines set forth in the syllabus.
  • Submit grades and required course documentation timely.
  • Follow Parker policies and procedures in all elements of course management.
  • Evaluate interns individually on the basis of clinical skill, attitude, attendance, knowledge and patient management.
  • Demonstrate quality clinical decision-making and documentation relevant to the clinic policies.
  • Maintain adequate patient volume.
  • Facilitate student participation in marketing activities.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students and patients.
  • Respond timely to student e-mails and voicemails.
  • Maintain required office hours to provide additional academic and clinical support to students and go over assessments and other graded work.
  • Fairly and consistently apply Parker clinic and student conduct policies.
  • Lead a team of interns in the service of patients and the community by ensuring the efficient care of patients and educating the community on health-related service and topics
  • Develop and execute a plan for attracting new patients for the Parker University Chiropractic Clinics and the intern team
  • Assist in programs for orienting new interns to the clinical experience
  • Identify the need and recommend additional instructions to interns found deficient in any aspect of patient care
  • Report severely deficient interns to the Dean of Clinics
  • Monitor intern progress toward clinical requirements for graduation and aid the intern in fulfilling said requirements.
  • Comply with Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Assist in vertical and horizontal integration of curriculum.
  • Participate in Quality Enhancement Project, OSCE exams, and other activities designed to evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to maintenance and/or improvement of programmatic outcomes such as National Board scores, Student Satisfaction Surveys, Graduate Exit Surveys, etc.
  • Have thorough knowledge of Parker quality patient care including the use of chiropractic adjusting, neuromuscular therapeutic exercise and activity, diagnostic imaging and body chemistry testing, nutrition and supplementation, and advising patients on therapeutic lifestyle change and management.
  • Maintain patient documentation consistent with the University’s standards defined by in-service presentations, training, and audit review and remediation
  • Review of assessment tools and outcomes.
  • Follow Medicare diagnostic organization and documentation standards on patients covered by Medicare
  • Maintain set performance statistics and goals
  • Report known safety violations to the Dean of Clinics or Clinic Director of respective clinic.
  • Engage with all Parker stakeholders in accordance with Parker values, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond timely to requests from direct supervisor, as well as other University offices.
  • Attend and participate in university events, including scheduled faculty meetings and three DC commencements per year.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in discipline(s) taught and educational methods.
  • Contribute to scholarly works.
  • Participate in service activities.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Dean of Clinics or Clinic Director of the respective clinic
