About The Position

This position supports healthcare teams by ensuring they have everything needed to care for patients and plays a crucial role in a patient’s experience and preparation during clinic visits. The role involves performing general patient care following established clinic workflows, greeting and preparing patients for healthcare providers by completing intake duties, collecting and preparing specimens, preparing and providing medications/vaccines, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, ensuring exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly, escalating non-routine issues, and completing safety checklists and quality controls. The position is located at 42nd & L Family Medicine / Priority Care and operates on a schedule of 3-12 hour shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM, including rotating weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
State-approved EMT training program graduate
Active State NE EMT License required
Active status on Nebraska Medication Aide Registry within 60 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by completing intake duties such as obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit.
Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately.
Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated.
Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.
