Requirements

  • Must have a current American Heart Association approved BLS card within 3 months of initial employment.
  • Must maintain current BLS certification throughout employment at Grand River Health Main Campus.
  • Medical Assistant experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Model professionalism and leadership, serving as a resource for all clinic staff.
  • Monitor skill levels and educational needs to improve staff performance and consistency.
  • Creates and delivers ongoing training for both new hires and current staff to enhance patient interaction and clinic processes.
  • Works actively with Clinic Leadership to propose and organize regular training sessions and suggest process improvements.
  • Collaborates with leadership to assess training needs, timing, and appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with the Education Team and Clinic Leadership to identify skill development needs and design relevant curriculum.
  • Create, assign, and track annual competencies for clinic staff.
  • Ensure staff maintain up-to-date licenses and certifications according to policy.
  • Support additional educational needs as directed by the Education team.
  • Maintain current BLS Provider certification and obtain BLS Instructor certification within one year of hire.
