About The Position
Summa Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Clinic Assistant for our Advanced Lap/Bariatric Office located in Akron, OH. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic by providing essential support to our medical team and delivering excellent service to our patients. The Clinic Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, performing limited point-of-care testing (POCT) such as urine tests, finger sticks, and pregnancy tests, and conducting visit planning. In addition to clinical duties, the role includes clerical responsibilities such as scanning, registration, and check-out, ensuring that all patient interactions are handled with care and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed a clinical skills curriculum. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a solid understanding of medical terminology are essential for this role. The Clinic Assistant must also be capable of organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality. This position requires the ability to interact compassionately with patients, understanding their needs for self-respect and dignity. Additionally, the role may involve travel between locations within the medical group, and the candidate must be prepared to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable diseases. BLS certification is required, and candidates must pass yearly clinical skill competencies to maintain their position.
