About The Position

The Secretary/Receptionist at Fresenius Kidney Care plays a vital role in providing administrative support within a clinical environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience without a degree; 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Good verbal communication skills and pleasant telephone manner.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively with a customer service attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls and routing them to the appropriate person.
  • Professionally greeting all patients and guests.
  • Maintaining a professional environment at all times.
  • Monitoring the reception and waiting areas.
  • Distributing incoming mail.
  • Obtaining necessary signatures for processing admissions data according to FMCNA policies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of hospitalization and patient travel for scheduling and ancillary testing.
  • Preparing medical records for facsimile or mail related to various patient needs.
  • Organizing travel for patients by providing requested medical records.
  • Coordinating transient patient paperwork and transfer placements with the Clinical Manager.
  • Confirming admissions paperwork is completed and sent to designated departments.
  • Assisting with medical appointment referrals and scheduling.
  • Assisting with transportation coordination and referrals.
  • Ensuring data entry is completed for Crown Web related to ESRD.
  • Scanning monthly insurance cards.
  • Setting up and maintaining filing systems and basic databases.
  • Completing forms and reports as required by various offices and agencies.
  • Preparing purchase orders using appropriate software applications.
  • Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed.
  • Maintaining inventory of necessary office supplies.
  • Assisting in auditing records for compliance with medical records standards.
  • Collecting Patient Demographic Information and Continuous Quality Improvement Data.
  • Assembling, filing, and maintaining patient medical records.
  • Printing patient schedules and pulling patient charts daily.
  • Arranging for package pickup and delivery.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting requirements.
  • Participating in collaboration sessions such as center/team huddles and staff meetings.
  • Attending education and training sessions and applying key learnings.
