About The Position

The Clin Tech position at YNHHS involves performing daily patient care duties under the direct supervision of an RN or Patient Care Manager. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, collecting patient data such as weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. The role also involves performing non-sterile treatments, phlebotomy (depending on the area), and EKGs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a CNA or complete certification prior to completion of orientation or has completed one clinical nursing school rotation and currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year patient care experience (EKG, Phlebotomy, Nurse Aide, Nurse Technician) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily patient care activities including activities of daily living and comfort measures, such as performing complete or partial baths.
  • Collects patient data, including weights, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure measurements, including orthostatic parameters as appropriate.
  • Performs non-sterile treatments, such as applying cold compresses.
  • Performs specimen collection/procedures, including phlebotomy (depending upon area of assignment) and EKGs.
  • Uses effective interpersonal skills in all interactions, demonstrating respect for others.
  • Maintains active involvement in all educational activities related to the role, including attending all mandatory inservices.
  • Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Patient Care Manager, demonstrating flexibility with time as assignment changes to meet unit needs.
