About The Position

Fort Loudoun Medical Center is equipped with a team of more than 200 doctors in more than 29 specialty areas. Our 87,000-square-foot hospital features advanced technology, including state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Diagnostic X-Rays and Women's Imaging Services, as well as Nuclear Medicine technology unique to our surrounding counties. The physicians, staff and volunteers of Fort Loudoun Medical Center are dedicated to providing excellent care to every patient, every time. The Medical Surgical Unit is a 46-bed telemetry equipped unit. The department services step down critical care, general medical, and surgical patients. Our staffing mix includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs and HUCs. Our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, case managers and direct care staff meet daily to discuss patient`s conditions and progress toward their discharge plan. We serve a rapidly growing community with a wide age range. Our staff involves family in the care of the patient through participation and education of the patient`s medical condition. Requirements

  • Must possess at least one (1) year of professional nursing experience.
  • Must have and maintain Tennessee State nursing license.
  • CPR required.

Responsibilities

  • Correlates patient history and support systems across continuum of care.
  • Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams making recommendations to facilitate patient care.
  • Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs. Evaluates outcomes.
  • Resolves issues regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
  • Supports Clin Nurse III/Clinical Coach in orienting/precepting new employees and students as directed.
  • Demonstrates active participation in unit and/or facility activities that facilitate achievement of department/facility goals and quality initiatives.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age specific needs of the population served.
  • Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
