About The Position

Overview: Fort Loudoun Medical Center , part of Covenant Health, is an 87,000-square-foot hospital serving Loudon County and surrounding communities. Based in Lenoir City, TN, with more than 200 physicians across 29 specialties, the facility offers advanced technology including MRI, CT, ultrasound, diagnostic X-rays, women’s imaging, and nuclear medicine unique to the region. Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
  • Minimum Experience: New graduate, within first (1 st ) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) year experience).
  • Licensure Requirement: Must have and maintain Tennessee State nursing license.
  • CPR required.

Responsibilities

  • Correlates patient history and support systems across continuum of care.
  • Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams making recommendations to facilitate patient care.
  • Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs.
  • Evaluates outcomes.
  • Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient care assignments, with supervision.
  • Introduces new employees/students to unit routines.
  • Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Completes required education assignments annually.
  • Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
