About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Perform high complexity clinical molecular assays in a fast-paced laboratory setting utilizing molecular knowledge/skills gained through clinical molecular experience, training and formal education. Develop / Validate/ Implement high complexity molecular assays to improve transplant outcomes and further the advancement of personalized medicine. Adhere to/ Promote and Maintain regulatory compliance through all phases of validation, testing, QA, QC. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Molecular Assay Development / Validation/ Implementation. Perform high complexity molecular testing of clinical samples utilizing multiple NGS platforms and applications. Perform high complexity molecular testing utilizing PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid purification. Perform high complexity molecular testing in compliance with departmental procedures, protocols and regulatory standards. Quality Assurance / Quality Control as related to all molecular procedures implemented / performed by the laboratory. Instrument evaluation, maintenance and calibration. Troubleshooting of nonconforming data, assay performance, instrument function. Critical analysis/ interpretation and accurate reporting of results. Education and training of laboratory staff in molecular techniques / assays. Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS Extensive knowledge of molecular biology principles and molecular biology techniques: DNA sequencing over multiple platforms, PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid purification. Extensive knowledge of / experience in primer design, sequencing applications, RNA extraction, cfDNA extraction, and human lymphocyte subpopulation isolation. Molecular bench skills that adhere to all applicable clinical laboratory standards/ regulations, protocols and procedures. Knowledge of / experience with liquid handling systems and flow cytometry basics. Knowledge of / experience with Bioinformatics pipelines and tools. Self-motivated, analytical and critical thinking abilities. Skilled in documentation/ writing of procedures, protocols. Effective communication skills to collaborate/ train and educate.
