The Class Instructor/Front Desk Attendant at Stoneworks Climbing Gym is a dynamic role that combines teaching climbing techniques and providing excellent customer service at the front desk. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about climbing and enjoy working with people, particularly children and families. The instructor will be responsible for leading Intro to Belay classes, which cover essential climbing skills such as safety checks, climbing commands, and knot tying. Classes are scheduled for two hours, two days a week, and on weekends, with a maximum of six participants aged 14 and up. Training will be provided to ensure instructors are well-prepared to teach these classes effectively. In addition to instructing, the role involves various front desk responsibilities, including opening and closing the gym, managing member accounts using Rock Gym Pro software, and providing exceptional customer service. This includes checking in customers, fitting gear, selling climbing packages, and assisting climbers as needed. The instructor must maintain a clean and welcoming gym environment, ensuring safety and satisfaction for all members and guests. The position requires working 1-2 weekends a month and offers a flexible schedule, making it suitable for those seeking part-time employment. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both in-person and over the phone, and have a background in customer service and climbing. Previous experience with point of sales systems is preferred, as is a First Aid certification.
