About The Position

The Climbing Arborist position at The Davey Tree Expert Company involves trimming and removing trees, as well as removing unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to ensure the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The role requires climbing trees using both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems, operating as an active crew member alongside a supporting ground crew and foreman. Arborists will perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients, including pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy, installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems, and removing hazardous trees. Proper maintenance, preparation, and operation of all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, are also essential duties.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities
