About The Position

The Climbing Arborist position at Chippers, Inc. involves trimming and removing trees, as well as removing unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to ensure the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The role requires climbing trees using various climbing systems, operating as an active crew member, and performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Responsibilities include pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood, installing cables and bracing, removing hazardous trees, and maintaining tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Previous tree climbing experience.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant pesticide, ISA, CDL, and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
