The Climate Systems Specialist will be responsible for maintaining optimal greenhouse growing environments using data driven techniques. They will implement and monitor environmental strategies to improve consistency in crop yields and quality across BrightFarms' greenhouses.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Horticulture, Floriculture, Biology, or related field
  • 2+ years working with greenhouse environmental control systems, such as Hoogendoorn and Priva
  • Experience implementing data-driven growing strategies
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Detail oriented and data driven
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with growers to outline climate issues in each greenhouse
  • Optimize strategies for all environmental parameters including temperature, humidity, CO2, and light
  • Monitor greenhouse climates and develop reporting methods
  • Conduct regular audits of climate systems
  • Identify areas for improvement in energy and CO2 usage and execute sustainability strategies
  • Work closely with controls engineers to address control systems issues
  • Implement new climate control technologies and programs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define climate program standards and objectives
