About The Position

APTIM is a leading professional services firm providing engineering, environmental, and resilience solutions to government and private-sector clients. The firm supports climate adaptation, infrastructure resilience, environmental restoration, and disaster recovery initiatives across the United States. APTIM is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Climate & Resilience Technology Intern to support climate risk analysis, geospatial data evaluation, and resilience planning efforts for public-sector and infrastructure clients. This position supports ongoing work in climate adaptation, hazard mitigation, and infrastructure resilience through the application of environmental data, geospatial tools, and emerging analytics technologies. The role is well suited for individuals interested in the application of large environmental datasets, satellite imagery, and climate modeling tools to inform risk assessment, infrastructure planning, and investment decision-making. The intern will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and climate specialists on projects addressing climate change impacts, vulnerability, and adaptation strategies. This internship provides hands-on experience with climate risk and vulnerability analysis, application of geospatial and environmental data to infrastructure planning, and participation in real-world resilience and adaptation projects. The role offers exposure to emerging climate technologies, consulting workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration, supporting professional development in a rapidly evolving field. Experience gained through this position aligns with career paths in climate and resilience analysis, geospatial and data science, infrastructure risk assessment, environmental or coastal engineering, and climate technology or sustainability consulting. This is a temporary position. The STRIVE Internship Program is a 12-week experience running from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. Interns are required to be fully available during Week 1 (May 18--22) and Week 12 (August 3--7) of the program. Week 12 includes company-paid travel to an APTIM office (location to be announced) for an end-of-internship celebration. Interns are expected to minimize absences to ensure a meaningful program experience. The program observes Memorial Day (May 25, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026, observed).
