About The Position

The Climate Program Coordinator (Operations and Policy Analyst 2) at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is responsible for coordinating the Climate Protection Program's rulemaking processes and program implementation. This role involves managing communications, supporting team members, conducting research on greenhouse gas emissions, and providing project management support to ensure effective program delivery. Requirements

  • 5 years of experience performing professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science, or a closely related field may substitute for 3 years of experience.
  • Excellent program or project management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of environmental justice and its impacts on marginalized communities.
  • Experience conducting evaluations of program rules, policies, and operations.
  • Strong research and policy analysis skills.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in climate change, natural resources, or community-focused public policy program management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Climate Protection Program's rulemaking processes and program implementation.
  • Manage internal and external communications related to the program.
  • Support team members with program materials, evaluation, and policy design.
  • Research and track greenhouse gas emissions developments in other jurisdictions.
  • Provide project management and scheduling support for meetings and program implementation.
  • Ensure timely and complete documentation of program activities.
  • Provide information about the climate program to other state agencies.
