About The Position

Essential Job Functions Collaborate with the Sales and Operations teams to understand client requirements, growth objectives and Crane's business plan for Managed Transportation Services. Lead the development of tailored end-to-end transportation solution designs: scope definition, operational model, staffing structure, technology integration and cost/price architecture. Create detailed cost and pricing models (including headcount, labor, technology, carrier costs, margin projections) for new business opportunities, contract renewals, and expansions. Prepare high-impact client-facing presentations, proposals and business cases that clearly communicate service offering, value proposition, operational design, pricing strategy and growth roadmap. Drive the response process for RFPs/RFIs by coordinating cross-functional inputs, ensuring timely and compelling deliverables. Maintain and enhance proposal templates, standard content, solution decks and pricing frameworks to ensure consistency, efficiency and high quality. Partner with Finance, HR, Operations and other functional stakeholders to validate assumptions (labor, carrier costs, technology) and ensure alignment with margin and growth targets. Monitor, analyze and report on proposal pipeline, win-rates, pricing trends and market intelligence; contribute to strategic business planning for growth of the MTS division. Assist with transition and implementation planning for new clients, supporting the hand-off process from proposal to execution in coordination with Operations and Project Management. Champion solution-oriented thinking, commercial acumen and client-first mindset across the organization. Other duties as Assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with exposure to managed transportation or 4PL/3PL solution design preferred.
  • Proven experience in solution design, pricing, commercial operations, or strategic proposal development.
  • Successful track record in leading RFP/RFI processes and client proposal creation.
  • Experience collaborating across Operations, Finance, HR, and IT to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Strong understanding of transportation cost structures, operational workflows, and margin management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and clearly articulate Crane's Managed Transportation Services value proposition across multiple audiences and business contexts.
  • Proven capability to communicate strategic and commercial value effectively, including to senior executive and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Ability to create and execute a clear strategic vision - establishing goals, building actionable plans, and driving measurable results.
  • Strong innovative problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced financial acumen and analytical mindset; able to interpret data and leverage key profitability drivers to shape pricing and solution strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience leading RFP processes, managing objections, and achieving mutually beneficial client outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain a strong professional network internally and externally, navigating client organizations effectively to support growth objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills - capable of simplifying complex concepts and delivering compelling solution narratives to varied audiences.
  • Highly collaborative, with a proven track record of success working cross[1]functionally in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively as business needs require.

  • Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics technology platforms preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred
