SPL is looking for a Client Services Specialist II to support our environmental laboratory operations in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring client needs are understood, documented, and met by coordinating closely with laboratory, field, and administrative teams. Your efforts will directly shape the client’s experience and contribute to the success of our analytical operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • 1-2 years customer service or administrative experience preferred, ideally in a technical, laboratory, or service-based setting;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational abilities;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications;
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and a willingness to learn;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client accounts across multiple market segments, including Public Bathing, Private Well, NPDES, and SDWA;
  • Set up and maintain client accounts and projects in LIMS, supporting Project Managers and internal teams;
  • Prepare quotations and pricing requests and assist with project documentation;
  • Work closely with field, lab, and sample receiving staff to coordinate incoming projects and meet client expectations;
  • Review workorders to ensure accurate setup in LIMS and proper billing;
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, service requests, and data questions;
  • Communicate project updates and solutions between clients and internal teams;
  • Upload subcontract lab results and assist with related administrative tasks;
  • Maintain knowledge of laboratory processes, regulatory programs, and client requirements;
  • Support daily operations by answering phones, assisting walk-in clients, and helping with sample login;
  • Provide backup support during high-volume periods or staff absences;
  • Assist with bottle preservation and sample-handling tasks when needed;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and deliver accurate client deliverables within required turnaround times;
  • Notify clients of results outside regulatory limits in accordance with established procedures;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
