The Client Services Advisor at Northwestern Mutual is a key support role within a financial planning team, responsible for managing client interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate and manage various administrative tasks to support the financial advisor's practice and enhance client service delivery.

  • Maintain the advisor's calendar by scheduling client reviews and confirming appointments.
  • Manage the advisor's LinkedIn messaging and input referrals to the firm.
  • Onboard new client insurance accounts by collecting required client information and documentation.
  • Schedule Insurance Exam medicals for clients.
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding forms and tasks via email, call, or text.
  • Enter new or updated client data in CRM and other software systems.
  • Monitor underwriting processes and communicate with clients regarding their applications.
  • Order and send birthday cards and holiday gifts, and organize client events.
  • Provide policy owner services, including requests for policy reconsideration and changes to beneficiary/payments.
  • Track and follow up on new account onboarding and client service tasks.
  • Handle post-meeting case notes and maintain client case files electronically.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of financial planning experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with software related to financial planning and insurance onboarding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with a fast-paced work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in appointment scheduling for at least 2 years.
  • Series 6, 7, and 63 licenses preferred; insurance license must be obtained within three months of employment.
