About The Position

Mill Rock Packaging (MRP) is a growing U.S.-based packaging company and a market leader in designing, engineering, and producing high-end, sustainable, and customized graphic paperboard, folding carton, and commercial printing products. We serve customers across industries like food and beverage, technology, health and beauty, pharmaceuticals, and more. We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Client Service Specialist to join our team, supporting a fast-paced folded carton packaging operation. This cross-functional role bridges customer service, production planning, and project coordination, ensuring the smooth execution of orders from purchase through production. You’ll work closely with sales, prepress, quality, and production teams, managing customer orders, initiating job tickets, and coordinating timelines to keep projects moving efficiently.

Requirements

  • Education: GED or High School Equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP system (e.g., IFS, Epicor, Printvis, Optimus Radius, NetSuite, SAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • A high level of attention to detail, accuracy matters.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and juggle competing priorities.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Comfort working across departments and owning tasks from start to finish.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or printing preferred.
  • Associate's or higher degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, order management, or production planning in a manufacturing or print/packaging environment.
  • Positive and professional demeanor with a “customer-first” attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Receive, enter, and manage customer purchase orders in the ERP system.
  • Partner with Sales to manage day-to-day order activity and customer expectations.
  • Initiate and track work orders; ensure accurate routing, specs, and instructions in the ERP.
  • Manage the pre-flight process by coordinating with the Prepress team to confirm artwork files are complete and print-ready.
  • Coordinate with production planning based on customer timelines and material availability.
  • Manage order changes, track inventory releases, and create returns or RMAs as needed.
  • Verify artwork, lead times, shipping details, and other key requirements with customers.
  • Monitor open orders and job statuses to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure new items are routed through Quality Assurance for review and approval.
  • Issue POs for outsourced work, ensuring suppliers have proper specs and deadlines.
  • Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to increase speed, quality, and efficiency.
