About the Role We are seeking a Client Services Director, Speakers Bureau to manage a portfolio of complex pharmaceutical Speakers Bureau accounts. This role sits at the intersection of client leadership, financial stewardship, and operational excellence and is responsible for ensuring programs are executed with precision, compliance, and profitability. This is not a traditional “account management or client success” role. We are looking for a true business owner, someone who can build and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), forecast revenue and expenses, control budgets, lead teams, and confidently partner with clients at a strategic level. Requirements

  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical Speakers Bureau client management
  • 4+ years leading and mentoring Client Services or Account Management teams
  • Demonstrated expertise across all aspects of Speakers Bureau programming
  • Advanced experience building and managing SOWs, budgets, and financial models
  • Proven ability to lead complex client negotiations around scope, pricing, and service delivery
  • Strong understanding of PhRMA guidelines and healthcare compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools
  • WIP tracking
  • Monthly accruals
  • Invoice approvals and submissions
  • Program-level financial closeouts
  • Forecasting accuracy and reconciliation

Responsibilities

  • Own the successful delivery of all Speakers Bureau services across assigned client portfolios.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, managing escalations, strategic conversations, and long-term planning.
  • Build deep, trusted client relationships while identifying opportunities for growth, expansion, and enhanced service offerings.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across Program Operations, Compliance, Meeting Services, Finance, and Technology.
  • Lead SOW creation and pricing strategy in partnership with Sales and Operations, ensuring scope, staffing, and financials are fully aligned.
  • Own financial performance of assigned accounts, including: Forecasting and revenue tracking Work-in-Progress (WIP) management Monthly accruals Invoicing Program-level financial closeouts
  • Ensure budgets are accurate, controlled, and defensible - with clear visibility into margin, utilization, and profitability.
  • Act as the financial authority for assigned clients, resolving discrepancies, scope creep, and budget risks before they impact results.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Client Service Managers
  • Set performance expectations, provide coaching, and build a culture of accountability, ownership, and excellence.
  • Manage staffing models, workload distribution, and capacity planning across the team.
  • Ensure documentation standards, compliance requirements, and financial controls are followed consistently.
  • Own client reporting, including KPIs, performance metrics, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Translate program and financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for clients and internal leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement through better forecasting, reporting, and operational discipline.
