About The Position

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Customer Relationship Representative to join their team. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality customer service by accurately and efficiently completing bank transactions and suggesting products and services that meet the current and future financial needs of bank customers. The role supports individuals in exceeding personal sales and service goals while delivering a meaningful customer experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 (six) months of experience selling products or services.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of sales, banking and/or related experience.
  • S.A.F.E. Act Registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). This must be met within 3 (three) months of hire date.
  • Obtain Notary Public designation.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of products/services offered by the bank (all lines of business).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior banking experience.
  • Ability to sell and cross-sell bank products and services.

  • Provide excellent customer service by: Responding to customer requests for banking transactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by: Answering customer inquiries and problems with solutions that meet the customer’s current needs.

  • Contribute to overall banking center operation by: Balance cash, daily transactions, vault and ATM.
  • Contribute to overall banking center operation by: Understanding and ensuring compliance, regulations and reporting.
  • Contribute to overall banking center operation by: Following information security policy and verification procedures to protect customer privacy.
  • Contribute to overall banking center operation by: Assist with opening and/or closing banking center.
  • Actively participate in a high performing sales environment by: Selling bank products, making customer referrals and other activities to support the goals.
  • Actively participate in a high performing sales environment by: Knowing about all bank products.
  • Actively participate in a high performing sales environment by: Participating in daily/weekly meetings and coaching sessions.
  • Lead and act as an example to others by: Training, coaching, and guiding staff with operational and sales skills.
  • Lead and act as an example to others by: Attending and/or completing applicable and required training sessions.
  • Lead and act as an example to others by: Actively participating in leading the sales and service activities at the Banking Center.
  • Lead and act as an example to others by: Assisting in banking center operations and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
