This position is responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing the administration of a wide variety of nonqualified benefit plans and related financing programs for corporate and bank clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (JD, CPA, or MBA is preferred)
  • 5 years’ of experience in client relationship management or comparable role with quantifiable success at building profitable, long-term client relationships
  • Working knowledge of benefit and life insurance issues, concepts and analyses.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles related to insurance and nonqualified benefits and their impact on a client’s balance sheet.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with M Team members, Member Firm personnel, Joint Venture Partners, Carrier staff and vendors.
  • Excellent professional business communication skills, oral and written.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients and advisors on benefit and insurance-related administrative issues
  • Learn to consult with clients and advisors on more technical topics, such as plan design, financing strategies, and tailoring benefit programs to meet client objectives
  • Understand the drivers behind plan features selected by clients and gauge their success at achieving client’s intentions
  • Learn to anticipate how regulatory, tax, and accounting changes will affect clients and raise areas of concern
  • Draft benefits-focused reports, such as deferral plan report cards, that include explanations of plan history, success metrics, concerns, current status, and recommendations and, where possible, invite staff to listen in on or attend resulting presentations
  • Conduct plan enrollment presentations (webinars and in person)
  • Develop and enhance client-specific and standardized communications, reports, etc.
  • Deliver fee invoices and negotiate fee adjustments with clients
  • Access and coordinate with external resources and experts (carriers, tax, legal, accounting) to precisely define issues and develop solutions
  • Identify opportunities and facilitate initiatives that enhance processes, methods, understanding of important concepts, etc.
  • Support marketing efforts by contributing to RFI responses, participating in finalist presentations, and contributing to white papers or other marketing materials
  • Weave coaching and mentoring into daily interactions with staff members
  • Exemplify a positive attitude and willingness to participate in initiatives that promote teamwork
  • Development of presentation skills including in public settings
  • Seek opportunities to cultivate public speaking
