The Client Operations & Underwriting Analyst supports underwriting and account management within the workers’ compensation practice. This role serves as a key operational partner across insureds, retail agents, carriers, and Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), ensuring high-quality data, underwriting readiness, and efficient issue resolution. The position plays a critical role in supporting profitability, compliance, and long-term client retention. Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with insureds, retail agents, carriers, and PEOs to gather, validate, and manage underwriting and servicing information, including employee census data, payroll, job classifications, experience modifiers, and claims documentation.
  • Perform pre-underwriting reviews for new business and renewal submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with carrier underwriting guidelines.
  • Support insureds and internal stakeholders with proper workers’ compensation class code assignments for new hires, role changes, and exposure updates.
  • Review payroll and exposure reports in collaboration with the Accounts team to confirm compliance with carrier and PEO requirements prior to submission.
  • Own the coordination and resolution of escalated underwriting and client service issues, working cross-functionally with carriers and internal teams through resolution.
  • Maintain proactive communication with insureds and agents through regular check-ins to address underwriting questions, service needs, and renewal activity, supporting retention efforts.
  • Manage the collection, review, and distribution of workers’ compensation certificates of insurance, policies, endorsements, and renewal documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry and maintenance of underwriting and policy data within CRM and agency management systems.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline underwriting and client service workflows, recommending process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
